My German Shorthair has gone to heaven. He died at home and will be sorely missed.

You have my sympathy. I've lost alot of "Best Friends" and it never gets easy when they die. I've always had Labs and usually every 11-14 years, I go thru the same thing. Gunner was my last and I haven't replaced him. One day we'll have another Lab around to enhance our lives. One thing they definitely do is enhance our lives. I'm sure he was a good boy, and I'm sorry for your loss. My GSP is getting to the age (13) that this is on my mind way more than I like. I'll not be fit to be around when that day comes.

We all understand and wish you the best. For someone that loved as much as you did, you OWE it to another pup that might not get as good of an owner to find them and bring them home. I have had 6 shorthairs that I hunted when younger and am now retired with a Giant Schnauzer that is smarter than I am thet it my full time companion to include the bed and BATHROOM.

Sorry to hear, I know all to well how bad it sucks. Max has been gone for 7 months, not even close to getting over it, I have had some good dogs in my life, hell, all dogs are good, but Max was like one of us, one of those dogs you just connect with, took a little piece of me when he left.
