I started practicing a little at 600 today, for the match this Saturday. This is the first 3 shot group, after I got on paper. Nice sunny day in the mid 40's and winds switching from left to right again. Needless to say, there was sufficient mirage to make it interesting. No wind flags or pennants, so I had to use the running mirage to gauge wind direction and strength.
Horizontal spread is 2.914 and vertical is .218. The 2 shots on the left are my first two on the target, they measure 1.308. I waited a long while for the condition to get close again, then took the third shot. Guess I didn't let the condition get quite close enough before touching the trigger but it was very hard to tell such a subtle difference by mirage alone, especially when there was so much mirage.
6 Dasher
Once fired Lapua brass
32.5 grains of Varget
105 Hybrids sitting .015 off
205M primer
2993 velocity
I have also included a picture of the rifle, showing a nice view down the length of benches at the range. I'm set up on number 10, number 60 is WAY on down the line. You might also be able to make out my laptop on the next bench. The laptop allows you to control the remote camera for the 600 yard targets.
