Muzzle brakes and accuracy,

Do muzzle brakes affect accuracy? I am getting ready to do a build on a light weight 30-06 and it would be nice to take a little bit of the bite out of the rifle.

A properly installed brake with ports that go all the way around should not negativly affect the accuracy. In fact, they often help. Now, the same load may not be what shoots well with it vs. without it though.--Mike Ezell

I've never noticed a accuracy problem with a break, just did a friends 7-08 Encore and it shoots tighter than it did before...

The BOSS used by Winchester and Browning was used to tune a barrel for different loads. I've installed one on a 338 win mag and it works.
