Widdens has some 8 mi in stock nowAnyone have an idea on wait time for a Muller Barrel? Wanting a 4 MI for BR rifle build.

I did see that. I'd be interested in hearing some thoughts on 4 vs. 8 (not to beat a dead horse, as I am sure it's been discussed before).Widdens has some 8 mi in stock now
I don’t think that he’s talking twist. The 4 and 8 are the rifling types. JMOI asked that question when I ordered a 4mi and an 8mi on November 25. Greg told me my unusual fast twist barrels would be done pretty quick, said it would take about 2 months. I was just notified they are shipping this week. So faster than I expected by a couple weeks

The 8’s are quite good as well if set up properly not a ton to distinguish either.I did see that. I'd be interested in hearing some thoughts on 4 vs. 8 (not to beat a dead horse, as I am sure it's been discussed before).
I am a muzzleloading benchrest shooter, but looking to get into RFBR this year, so any insights are definitely appreciated!
Ok forget the type and twist rate. I asked how long is the wait, I was told it would take about 2 months. It actually took 6 weeks. You are correct
Great to know! Thank you and I hope your barrels are full of Xs!Ok forget the type and twist rate. I asked how long is the wait, I was told it would take about 2 months. It actually took 6 weeks.
Thanks but I’m building these for ELR matches. But if they group well short range, I may try them at an ARA match in San Angelo, TX. Have not been out there in almost a year. Great practice for trigger control, form, and follow though. Those San Angelo guys are good, they always beat the pants off of me.Great to know! Thank you and I hope your barrels are full of Xs!
So what twist did you go with? Thanks but I’m building these for ELR matches. But if they group well short range, I may try them at an ARA match in San Angelo, TX. Interesting observation, I’ll see how it works for me.I have a 4 and an 8 I find the hotter it is the 4 works better than the 8 so go figure
The 8mi I have mounted on my Turbo took a bit to come in when new but when it did, it shoots very well in mild and windy conditions. The exception, a right to left wind. With my prior 5groove as well as a Shilen ratchet I would see a manageable shift. With the 8MI, it can be more significant which with an ARA target just requires a bit more focus. I can only assume the added grooves contribute to the affective change. All 16T…I have had a 4mi and a 8mi now. My 8mi shoots better especially in the wind. But a lot of different variables. 2 separate guns actions and gunsmiths. Just had a muller Octomax fitted to a rifle. Should have it back in next couple days. Interested to see how it does.
