Muller Octomax barrel

To VLNBYR and everybody else, my original question on Rimfire Central, and Mt.Boy here, don't have anything to do with how to perform the required work, I have done hundreds of barrels, and know exactly what to do.
My original question was strictly related to the performance of this new rifling process by somebody that has one or knows somebody that does. So far not a single person has responded to the original question.
All the responses have been totally irrelevant to the original subject.
Evelio.

Interesting thread. I have a Muller .900 Octomax smithed by Stiller. Problem is for this thread, it has just been sitting in my barrel rack with a tuner on it and has never been installed and fired, so no data.

Now, how important is different rifling profiles as compared to different lots of barrel steel in regards to accuracy, or how well a barrel preforms? Most likely, nothing. We have seen many different rifling profiles over the years, especially from Muller, and it seems that all of them will produce good barrels at one time or another.

As an example, there was a lot of steel that Muller had back in 2020 or so. I had a barrel out of that lot that was comprised of both 8MI and 4MI. Didn't matter what rifling they were, most all of those barrels shot really well. The barrel steel lottery is real. I personally feel that the OP's smith should finish the barrel as he normally would for any given rifling profile. This smith has a very good reputation. If the barrel shoots, it means he did his job. If it doesn't, it means he screwed up, or more likely from what I know of him, the barrel didn't make the grade, or some other influence has caused poor results on the target.
