MTM DS-1250 Mini Scales

Sinclair International list the MTM DS-1250 mini scales for only $27.95,they're in the RCBS scale section for some reason). According to the MTM website they weigh up to 1200 grains at 0.1 grain accuracy.

This seems to be really cheap to me, does anyone know if they are any good?

A friend of mine showed up with one of those this past weekend. It was reading high by 6% consistently. IMHO, you get what you pay for, especially in a delicate instrument like a digital scale. I have a Denver Instrument that I bought quite a few years ago that has been rock solid. I would highly recommend it. "Cry once......"

Funds don't really stretch to something like the Denver Instruments or Acculab units. Adding in the exchange rate and shipping costs these units are over $500 and even the cheaper lee balance beam scales are over $125 once they arrive to NZ.

Were they coonsistantly reading high by the same amount/percentage? If so I could use lower starting loads and work up to loads that would be reproducable on the same scales.
