As it turns out, I ended up with a 6 PPC instead of a 6 BR so the question is somewhat different.

For mostly 100 yards, occasionally 200 yards, and perhaps on rare occasions 300 yards, is there a weight class of bullet which results in the best accuracy in a 6 PPC?

Keep the jacket length in mind relative to the twist rate of your barrel. Great bullets are made on both the .825 and .790 jacket lengths.

Great advice, 62 to 68 grain is the sweet spot for the 6ppc being used for short range benchrest. Lighter can give better varmint performance, but probably not as absolute accuracy potential.

Like any cartridge the barrel twist is your dterming factor for what bullet is best in any caliber. With 1-12 to 1-14 being the sweet spot for this cartridge.

In a 6BR 1-8 to 1-10 is where I think the 6BR, 6BRA, is in its spot for barrel twist. I prefer 80 to 95 grain bullets in that cartridge, for my sweet spot.

Again lighter might work better for varmint use in the BR's, and for just poking holes in paper up to 105 can be used with excellent results. But I find running a good 95 grain in hunting use better and more versatile for all round use in the faster twist.

But both cartridges should have the twist of the barrel being used to determine best bullet. That trumps the cartridge in question in any caliber, for best bullet to use.

65 to 68 grains. Get a good custom bullet. Short range custom bullets are the best bargain In Benchrest.
