Modern sniper manual

Best one is provided by the USMC or the ARMY, they are not in print but passed down orally.
You can get one but it usually takes 2 years or more commitment to learning.

If I were 60 yrs younger, that is exactly what I would do. Do you have a second choice?

They're available to the public Bill. Here are a couple you can find readily available:

21st Century U.S. Army Sniper Training Field Manual #FM 23-10 Army Field Manual.

U.S. Army Sniper Training Manual # TC 23-14.

Here is a link you can copy: www.bits.de/NRANEU/others/amd-us-archive/fm_23-10(94).pdf

Thanks to JRS and Steve Blair. It looks like I can obtain the info without enlisting but I'm sure I can never master the subject as well as Mr Underbridge. BTW, it could be helpful for him to review these posts.
As he ages, he may find it useful to refresh his knowledge with the printed material referenced above.

There is quite a few pages to copy on the link I provided, Bill. However, the paper and ink for your printer is probably the most inexpensive way to obtain what you are seeking. Those manuals are a bit pricey. BTW: The U.S Army sniper training school is only 5 weeks long. I'm not certain about the U.S.M.C, but believe the training to be a few weeks longer.

You should attend one of the schools put on by mcmillan. Itll teach you a lot and they wont make you crawl thru ant beds as was suggested earlier!! I think youd have a large time as everybody else i know has.

Might be a little far from you, but it looks pretty top notch if you are interested. I could never just get the money scraped together and became as self taught as I could be. Also the long range rifle courses are more of a gentlemans course I was told. Lol my days of crawling in the ants are over lol.

The current Scout Sniper Course is 12½ weeks, usually followed by the 4 week Team Leader Course. I shoot with Marine Snipers at both Camp Pendleton and Twentynine Palms. They are usually excellent shots but also, more importantly, very sneaky guys. ;)

Someone on here posted a link to a whole bunch of U tube videos that some guy put together about long range shooting. I cant remember his name, but they were excellent. I didn't think I would like them but they were quite good. He was a young guy and last I heard he was fighting cancer. Check them out before you spend a bunch of money.
