Mod 41 vs Scorpion

I love pure accuracy. At age 79, I am not interested in formal competition, but I am thinking of getting a Volquartsen Scorpion. I have a S&W model 41 that is in excellent condition and is very accurate. Since I can't afford the Volquartsen without selling something, I may sell my 41. Am I making a mistake? PS- I have never fired a Scorpion.

Yep ! I have done that more than once and regretted it each time.

Keep the 41, and sell something else (eggs, furniture, the cat, etc.) to get the Scorpion.
I have a 41 and have shot the Scorpion as well.
The best of the old school and of the new technology.
You deserve both.

Don't apologize using a scope, they were drilled and tapped for that very reason!

Back in the day I had my A series 41 drilled and tapped for buehler mounts and rings with a gloss burris IER 2-7 scope. Shot my first squirrel with a handgun with it. Sadly it was stolen in a break in. The barrel and scope combo was used to break the glass in my gun case and mar my rifle and shotguns in it . They left the 41 with the 5 1/2 HB. They walked off with the 7 inch scoped barrel combo.

Sir, at 79 you should not need advice from a pup like me, but I am going to offer it anyhow.

Sell your boots, your fishing gear, your toaster, but don't sell the 41. You will regret that.

I'll go against the grain. If you don't shoot the 41, sell it. I've sold several 41's over the years because they just weren't being used. If I ever decide I want another, I'll just buy one.

A mod 41 is a classic. Best 22 out there imo. Ive regretted selling mine for 15yrs. One of my favorite pistols of all time

If your 41 is reliable you would be crazy to sell it. Buy some different barrels for it, maybe even a Clark.

I have one: it's beat up, I've sawed on the grips, and put thousands of rounds through it. My only gripe is I can't easily suppress it. It ain't for sale or trade. I would consider buying a second so I could bounce cans with one in each hand though.

I sold my 41, to purchase a Walther ISSF pistol donkey's years ago. Regretted it ever since.

I have regretted selling a few guns during my walk thru life and have kept the 41. Glad I did. Probably buy another one no harm having duplicates laying around. They will always hold their value. Every time i shoot it I tell myself I need to shoot this more.

I sold my 41, I regret it. I currently have a scorpion, I like it too but the 41 had more soul to it imo. I like the deep blue, walnut grips and iconic looks and accuracy. There’s no wrong choice between the two but I’d think on selling that 41, make sure you really want to go down that road.

Sell that 41 and try something new unless you are attached to the 41 for sentimental reasons. If you decide the Scorpion isnt for you, they are still making 41s and they are easy to find.
