I've wanted a 1922 Springfield Mod11 for years. I found this listed on another forum. It belonged to a recently deceased Korean War veteran. He shot competitively until his passing. He also had Mod 70 pre64 competition rifles, several 1911 early model national match pistols, Garands, and mod 41 S&W pistols. All were in excellent condition.

I hope that you like it.

That sucka looks almost new Butch? Have you ever shot one before? Always wondered how they handled and how they shot? Don't think I have ever seen one in these parts, however, there isn't much of anything in 'these parts'!! lol Nice addition!

Very nice!

My Dad lent one to a buddy many years ago and cried in his beer for decades about "the M2 that got away..."

that one is gorgeous! Hope that veteran's initials were not HB....

;)

I have no clue as to the gentleman's name. It came out of New Jersey. It was handled by a 3rd party that I have purchased rifles from in the past. I sure didn't get it for free, but I felt like the condition justified the price. I think the widow came out very well on the sales of the weapons.
It does have a 8-26 barrel date. The ser. number is 62XXB. Believe it or not, it does have a little cosmoline on it. Maybe the owner did that.

I also received some Dynamit Nobel with it. It is in silver boxes with orange red color. It says TROISDORF on the end of the box. I have some RWS ammo, but it is marked RWS and has different color boxes.

Hi Butch, nice rifle! I have one just like yours. The rifle were supposed to shoot 1 inch groups at 50 yards or better if I remember correctly. Magazine are most difficult to find, don't loose it. Have fun shooting it.
