MN Long Range Regional June 7-8, 2014

Thanks for putting this up Scott, you got the final bulletin before I did for some strange reason.

For those of you concerned that our crop of mosquitoes has been down the last couple of years, we have a bumper crop of mosquitoes for your enjoyment this year.

ERSC has the same issue. Lisa shot 200-15X last night at 600 and she claims the 10's were because of mosquitoes in the way!

Good to know. I don't own any water proof shoes, do you think I'll be ok with bread bags under my regular shoes? That's what mom had us do when we were kids...

The bug spray should be used on your bullets so they don't try to get a free ride down range and spoil your BC.

Well, it's all over. Congrats to John Rykus on winning the F-class weekend agg for the Gold medal from the Expert class! That'll get you noticed by the big dogs.

If anybody is interested in the sling shooters, it looks like some guy named Erik Rhode won the match on that side of things with a 980. I've heard that he is one heck of a hard-holding SOB.

I'm gonna have to consider mixing a little DEET into my loading regime.

Do you put it in on top of the powder? How much? ;D

Congrats Erik!

Just soak your primers in Deet (90% or better) for 2-3 hours let them dry for a few minutes and reload. I find this does a pretty uniform spread of Deet through out the powder stack. Using Deet on the primers is the best way to keep yourself mosquito free as you will not have to worry about shooting.

John, you only need Deet if you come up and shoot at GRRC. We still have shooting points available on Thursday nights if you are interested.

Wade,

With work and 2 boys in travel baseball, free time for shooting (and loading) has become exceedingly hard to come by (especially the past couple weeks). Things should loosen up here in the next few weeks, and I should be able to get up there.
