MK 4 vs LRT

Exactly what is the difference between the Leupold MK 4 vs a VX III LRT? I am looking for another scope and see that there is $400 - $500 difference in price between them. Is the glass different? I know that the dials are different looking, but is there a difference in the internal workings?

I am going to replace the 12-42 NXS on one of my br guns with something with more elevation adjustments for shooting steel. I can't do an ATACR or a NEW NSX right now, and can't decide on a Leupold or the new SVH Nightforce. I have a 8.5-25 x 50 LRT on one of my guns now and like it. I have numerous Nightforce NSX's and BR models and love them.

What say you?

They have heavier springs and turrets. I believe the tube is thicker also. They are supposed to be heavier built like the Original Mark 4. The TMR reticule is nice. It is open in the middle. It has a diamond shape to it and floats the patch at 1000 yards on 25 power.

Thanks. Since this is for "tactical" type shooting and the dials will be cranked on every time I shoot, maybe the MK 4 would be the the choice.

Now...MK 4 and SHV are the same price point!! I have ANOTHER decision to make. LOL
