Pete, the scores are not posted yet, but I understand you won. I told you the dasher was the way to go @ Raton. Don't listen to Mike. He's afraid of that gun!
Congrats

Here it comes, lol. That dasher was my savior in the last relay since I had to borrow it to finish. It's a shooter no doubt and so is Pete Petros!! Congratulations Mr Petros on superb performance.

Pete is a machine.... Good shooting Also Mike but you better watch that boy, he will be cleaning everyones clock pretty soon. Good match and a great experience with the conditions.

Thanks to all who made this match happen. Ryan for running a good match, Mike for the great food and everyone else. I had a great time.

Competitors were treated to a prize table made possible by generous donations from MidwayUSA and 21st Century Shooting. Make sure you patronize these fine vendors. I personally won John's case lathe and can't wait to try it out.

I would like to thank the sponsors for the prizes, St. Louis Benchrest club for hosting the match, everyone who pitched in and helped make this happen and all of the shooters who attended. This was the first match of this level that I have ran and it went smoothly with the help of some great people.

Seeing the smile on Mike and Sam's faces as they pulled away from the match today made this whole endeavor worthwhile. Mike had thought earlier in the day that he would have to withdraw from the match due to ammunition issues. He decided he would rather watch his son shoot and give him his own ammo. In the end, Pete, who was running neck and neck with Mike, gave him his own rifle to finish, knowing that doing so may cause him to not win. This is the group of people that I shoot with.

Ryan you Michelle ran an excellent match. It was a great weekend of shooting. Congrats to all of the winners. Mike...Sam is going to clean our clocks one of these days he has great talent and is a great kid. You should be proud. I would lend either of you my rifle anytime! See you all on the line soon!

I think everyone had a great experience at this match Ryan. The conditions were very difficult Saturday and tricky today. The long coarse of fire gave opportunity to learn about what shooting really is. Pete and Jeremy Newell proved themselves by running the coarse and are true shooters. Sam had a great experience and I thank you for providing this moment in his life. You did a great job and you know what happens when you do that!!!

Pete I think I owe you a few bucks.

I just checked the scores and we each won 4 relays so I don't have to pay for the whipping I just took, it was free!! Lol

Sounds like a great time was had by all.. Big congrats to Sam J. I was rooting for him beat the old man. (As an old man, nothing better than when your kid does better than you..) Kudos to Ryan and team for putting on a what sounds like great match!!

Petros, in that picture it's kinda hard to tell but, are you riding a chicken or are those your real legs....? ;)

I am not sure where the chicken came from! Either a chicken sneaked in there or I do have chicken legs!

Someone at the match was talking about a possible Fclass match starting at Buck Snort (or starting to allow Fclass to shoot the HP matches), or something along those lines. Anyone have any information on that?

Thanks

I don't believe they have any room for fclass since they only have 4 matches a year and limited space. They are having their highpower state championships this weekend and the match bulletin says no fclass. I will send you Chris Strannigan's phone number and you can inquire with the man in charge. Now there is a better rumor that Tom Jacobs the owner of Vapor Trail range in Spickard is considering putting in pits to hold fclass and would be the first 1000yd fclass range in the state.

BTW... There is another match here on sat. Oct 12th. It is a highpower midrange 600 yrd match. 4x20 with 2 sighters each relay. I think Ryan and Pete plus a few others will be there. Fclass is welcome to shoot.

Thanks Mike. Im working on a trip to my inlaws on the 12th, so Id have a good reason to shoot that day. :)

For those that have not attended this match, it was a great match ran very well (they even keep us feed). I look forward to returning to the next one and maybe give Mike and Pete a run for their money. I would also give a warning to all f class shooters to be on the watch for Mike's son Sam ;), he will most likely dominate this sport (if he can keep the scope off his forehead). Also a big thank you to Midway USA and 21st Century for providing a very nice prize table, I ended up with a nice Midway rang bag (which I needed pretty bad).

James,

It was good meeting you and nice shooting next to you on the line. I might have to try and make it down to Tulsa this next season to shoot on your turf.

James

I too am glad you guys made it up, and we will plan on a few trips down there next season. You shot well, that range is tough especially in a tail and head wind situation (which we had the pleasure to deal with both days!).

Take care and good shooting!

Pete Petros

Keep an eye on www.tulsaredcastlegunclub.com and find our shooting schedule, hope to see you at a few and I would recommend our regional match, it normally draws some good competitors.

I am going to schedule a 4 man team match the day after our first highpower match in April. We set the schedule in late November and I see good timing for a 2 day match.

I just talked to the highpower match director and we are planning on a 4x20 individual sat and team on sunday. We are trying to find a open weekend in early spring and will post as soon as we get one set.
