Minimum charge for V3 Auto trickler

What is the smallest charge the V3 can dispense via the powder throw?

I want to get one, but would also like to be able to use it for handguns - where I would typically need to be able to throw between 7 and 10 grains of powder like CFE Pistol.

I've run 6.5 gr. of VV N32C for 300blk bolt rifle loads. It's a fairly bulky powder, similar to Trail Boss. Ran like a champ.

I trickle 2.8gr (for load development only) and I’m sure it would go as lower than 1/2 a grain or less. No autothrow.

Thanks - so I assume with the App you can set the amount of Auto-throw to be Zero so it will only actuate the trickler?

@piie It would probably save you a lot of time if you would compile all of your questions in an email
to the nice Canadian fellow who invented the Autotrickler.

He is generally quick to answer question. I asked a while ago about running it off a 12v battery like one out of a UPS. He said no problem just be sure to check the polarity of the barrel connector as its oposite to some common ones.

I don’t have the autothrow sadly. But you can disable it or unplug it. You could also just leave it empty.

Thanks, just got mine and played around a bit - if you leave the powder throw empty, you can throw with trickler only - so problem solved for small loads

Will see how small a load I can throw with auto-throw a bit later, since that should speed things up alot.

Technically, Just disable the Auto Throw in the app.. And just run the Auto Trickler. That's what I do for 4.9gs of WST in 45acp On my Sartorius Entris II V3 AT. Spot on every time.

I was wondering the same thing about how low my V3 would go. With fine ball powder, the adjustment on the thrower would not throw anything below about 8 grains. My revolver uses 4.4 grains of Titegroup.

I ended up unplugging the thrower and using a dipper (.5cc) to get around 3.5 to 3.75 grains. The trickler does the rest. Works great. I will sometimes not use the bulk thrower at all, and use my manual Lee dispenser. I then let the trickler finish.
