Live good shoot oftenGood shooting guys ! Going to try to make it down there sometime.
CaptainMal, You are way too kind, but thank You.Jim Hoffman created this "creature". Think he mentioned it weighs 36 lbs. Well I do know he modified the stock from ...
... a Crossman air rifle. Seriously, he made liberal use of epoxy to sculpture items from his collection of stuff to make that stock. Then he fit it to a Savage action. Using a bolt from an older Savage marked Stevens, he sorted out some leftovers to complete the action. I do not know the history of his barrel and am not sure of what cartridge it is chambered for.

Did take a close-up picture of Jim's craftsmanship for all to enjoy. His tracking plate on the butt is straight from American Bridge Division of U.S. steel. Jim must have been an engineer in his other universe.
It works. That's the important thing to remember. Jim is such a pleasant fellow to know and shoot with you just don't take the opportunity to recognize his craftsmanship and innovative contributions to our shooting sports.
Thanks for all the comments to this informational posting of the Manatee IBS. Sometimes I wonder if many pay attention to these and if they are worth the effort to create. All of you that responded to this posting on the forum make it worthwhile.

Keep after it Jim!!!That’s the guy who’s partitioning the IBS to institute a “HOBBY CLASS”![]()
Not to worry Fred!, I’ll be there nipping at Your heels. Learning all I can from You. I’ll see You in the spring !!!Keep after it Jim!!!
I’m jealous to say the least. We had 18 below Saturday morning. I wish it wasn’t so far away. Great to see all the smiling faces. Congratulations to all the winners, no congratulations to everyone. It looks like you had a blast and that’s what this is all about. Doing what we love while having fun with friends.View attachment 1310468
He wants you to know he can be a force in the IBS and a well-deserved one. His wife Denise did the cooking of the food but Mike "cooked" all 31 shooters today.

Think there are 38 photos for you to see in this link. Both Light and Heavy gun score sheets are included here so you can view all the results and the points. Bit of a chilly day with temperatures that stayed right around 58 degrees. There was a hint of rain and a cold north wind blowing. Thinking some of you up north must have been trying to blow Mike off his victory pace. Mike ruled. He even took the money in one class of "Closest To the X", as you can see in the link pictures.

Did you click on and view the photos above? Well ... go ahead and enjoy.
Our next IBS will be February 26th. Denise Lowitz is proposing Pierogi, cabbage, sausage etc. Good "old country" cooking for us all, you if you get here.
Short and simple - IBS 600 is "cooking'" at Manatee this winter season. Be there or be square. Enjoy.

Denise will tell you - shooting at Manatee is a piece of cake. Yeah right.
Seth, the March shoot is the Florida state. That would be a good one for You and Jeff to make, or anyone else from Your neck of the woods. Not that we want to get our butts beat but You guys are certainly welcome I’m sure. I’m sure anyone down this way would be glad to make it easy for You to attend. Hope to see You in March!Good shooting guys ! Going to try to make it down there sometime.
If it ain’t rough it ain’t rightI thought we had a rough looking bunch of shooters. LOL
