What does it say about Highpower Across the Course when the number of participants in this match dwarfed the number of participants for the NRA National Matches held at the same range? Inquiring minds want to know, ya know.........

Looking at the roster , there are several former XTC shooters in there. Belly shooting under a canopy only and not humping gear all day has its appeal. Particularly the older I get.

It says a lot of things and one of those things is that the XTC shooters decided not to support the match.

You can have a great range and a good group of people to put in all the hard work that goes into putting a big match together, but the shooters still need to show their support by showing up.

Congrats to Marty and the other winners of the MWP!

The CMP matches for XC and service rifle still draw good numbers of competitors. The NRA has not supported its shooters for a long time so many don’t feel any loyalty to the NRA.
XC shooting takes a lot of practice n stamina to compete at the high levels. It’s a younger persons game. As u get older, the motivation and physical demands for XC becomes an issue. Specializing in MR and LR prone is its own special challenge.
