Midwayusa sales tax

Makes me wonder just how does this sales tax collected gets to the states that it is designated for. Who or what monitors and audits these tax collections from online vendors and does the correct amounts find their way to the state coffers?

I've lived in Texas long enough to remember the sales pitch promoting the Texas State Lottery. We were told the revenue would be earmarked (at least in part) for public education, and that we would see a reduction in our property taxes, which are the highest component of the combined ad valorem taxes we pay. Fast forward 27 years: I'm still waiting for the reduction in my taxes. It will probably be this year. Surely they weren't joshing us.

But yet my “school taxes” in 1996 was over $4000

Depends on a company's gross sales in any particular state as to whether or not they are required to collect sales tax. I love being a small company as I don't meet the requirements to have to charge sales tax on any sales other than here in TX where I am located. Can't imagine the headache it must be keeping track of all that not to mention the software required to do it. Small is a good thing!

I ordered from Midway 3 days ago. I didn't get charged sales tax.

NEVADA????? Doubtful! All the cali immigrants turned it blue! Clark county controls the whole state!! Only good thing about Nevada is the hunting IF & that's a BIG IF YOU CAN DRAW A TAG!! I'm out of here in Nov. I grew up hunting & never did I have to wait years for a tag!!

Exactly!! those bastradges moved here and continue to vote for the things they’re running from. Washoe county and state sales tax is 8.265% now.

Yup, MN sold us on the lottery saying 100% would go to the DNR. Didn't even happen the first year. I was just amazed that they would lie to me.
