The health care payments account for 80%, or $9.2 Billion of loss. One of my neighbors retired from the USPS and explained the problems to me. Their dealings in the real estate market also contributed to their financial mess.
And who controls them???? They took too much for granite for too long.
It's actually embarrassing that the USPS is losing "BILLIONS" every quarter. And UPS & FedEx are making money. Now who sat on their butts and watch this happen.
Then, the only good system, the Social Security System, they are robbing it trying to keep "ALL" of their mistakes floating.
It really burns me up to even think about it.
Seriously, I do complement the Postal Employees every time I am there, which is several times a week. If I hear one of them complaining (which is rare), I will jump their behinds. And I don't think twice about it.
Seriously, as several mentioned above, shipping materials are getting expensive. People want me to use plastic envolopes or paper envolopes. All I ever got back was one with a hole in it with no merchandise. These packages just won't hold up, even shipping recoil lugs. The cardboard boxes work GREAT, but you still need packing, labor, and most of all, SHIPPING LABELS which has gone through the roof. Oh, I forgot the scales.
Just Venting, I see people in places complaining all the time about shipping cost.
A vendor is better off going with Stamps.com or PB, yes, if you are big, they will work with you on costs.
I will never forget the women who was shipping a pair of shoes to Time Square in NY and the cost was $50.00. I don't know why, but it was. It was funny.
