Midway shipping?!?

I agree everything should be packaged properly before being shipped but poor handling practices by the Carriers ( UPS, FedEx, USPS etc ) I feel is the real culprite. I receive packages daily from customers and am surprised the parts aren't damaged beyond repair. Remember the old Samsonite commercial with the Gorilla throwing the suitcase around in the cage? He should of had a UPS uniform on. It seams that the damaged packages increase when they hire for the Christmas rush. Maybe a little more training or supervision is needed.

Gents
I've moved to Brunos
Not only have I received better prices, the shipping is timely and packed well..

Best advice I can give you when ordering from midway is to include a dot regulated item like solvent or wipeout with your order. Seems they pack it better, and it won't come usps.

This doesn't always work....I've ordered a gallon of ultrasonic cleaner on two separate occasions along with other items and both arrived poorly packaged and leaking all over....and as others have stated, it seems a lot of companies have resorted to shipping items in thin plastic envelopes with no regard to how sensitive the items are as far as being critical machined parts or tools.

That's not on Brownells. It's on the SHIPPER. Call tomorrow and check up on it verbally because lately, I've been getting packages very promptly.
You saying to call Brownell's ? Not sure of the shipper, it started out Fedex then US postal I believe. Seems like I never get anything from them inside ten days this is day twelve.

I order a lot of stuff from Midway and usually I have no problems, more often than not it is over packaged.

However I have had two issues over the past few years with damaged packages. One was a CCI 22mag plastic box that busted open, they shipped another box off 22mag and a small plastic box to put the busted open ammo into.

Another time a funnel was bent, usable but bent. They sent a replacement promptly, and didnt ask for the bent one back.

The one that really toasts my buns is when you order a $6 item, say like a cleaning rod jag, then you are charged $9 to ship it, and when it arrives it is in a 12"x12" box rattling around like a pea in a trash can.

I’ve found Midway’s shipping pretty fast & better priced. Although I did order loaded
pistol ammo-the delivered box had 3-4 “air pillows” & 8 50 rd boxes. There were 10 or so loose 9mm rounds rattling around in the cardboard box.
also many no prob Midway deliveries fwiw.

Yeah, because the SELLER has a greater ability to raise holy hell with the shipper than you do. It's THEIR merchandise on the line until you receive the shipment.

You get the service you pay for...my recent scope purchase and customer service support from Midway was outstanding. If you want fast shipping, are you willing to pay for service?
Ben

I usually pay for second day which I figure should be Friday if I order Tuesday or Wednesday, 2-3 business days. What isn't second day is the following Friday after they finally get around to the post office the following Wednesday, 8 business days.

Midway will make it right. Ive had the same thing happen with Midway and Brownells. They will make it right. Order pickers being graded and paid on number of orders shipped not how they are shipped.

I got my 6br brass the other day in padded flat rate envolope and one of the blue boxes was broke. But not enough for the brass to come out and float around in the bag.

I understand that. That's why I mentioned it was the free shipping that was slow.

I've had good luck with Midway. No problems with packaging - yeah some items in padded envelopes, but boxed up well when needed. The bubble pillows blow up quite a bit coming to this elevation (5100feet) but no problems. I suppose I could/should expand my supplier base but Midway is generally my first choice and it's not often they don't have what I'm looking for.

amm-1001-414_1.jpg The last order I had from Midway was 3,000 rounds of CCI .22's that come in the plastic 100 round case just before California banned internet ammo sales. They came in a way too big box with a bunch of air pillows. Needless to say all but two of the containers were smashed so I had 2,800 loose rounds mixed in with a bunch of plastic pieces. Up until then I had never had a problem.

Robotic conveyors, chutes, levers, etc are mostly responsible for rough handling I have seen.
