Midway shipping?!?

So right after Christmas I ordered some 6br brass and dies from midway. Mainly because they had it in stock and it was on sale. It arrived today. In a bubble wrap bag, no box at all. So the lapua blue box was in pieces, lid was completely broken off. Luckily the Redding die box survived, and the Forester seater survived. Even with the holes in the shipping bag the brass was all accounted for, although the necks on a bunch were all beaten up. I guess I’ve learned a lesson here. I don’t know of anyone that would have shipped those items in a bag. WTF? Sorry rant over.

Yeah, I've recently gotten things from Midway in a padded envelope that were pretty beaten up and should have been in a box. That's what you get with "FREE" shipping I guess.

Mean while I ordered 12 soft sided rifle case , on sale no less . Each were $13 ish , arrived each in a separate box with aprx 180 bags of air . I called and complained letting them know they will not last long shipping items like this . Now they have gone the complete opposite .
I took pics of the boxes . They were so big , just so they didn't want to bend the soft case .

I found that Midway just isn't the place to buy anything (for me). His TV show doesn't do anything for me either. Works great for me. I kind of like Midsouth though. Midsouth had some of the best prices on some stuff I ordered last night and I looked at Natchez, Graf's, and Bruno's also.

I've had problems with loose items in their boxes but the one I got today was jam packed with little pillows. Of course the free shipping still took forever to get here.

Contemporary shipping guidelines:
Box
Put item in box
Put 2 airbags on top of item
Seal box
Throw on floor hard.
Airbags did not damage top of box?
No
Acceptable!

Larry P has stepped back from the operations of the company he built to enjoy life. Kudos to him for building a fine company. However he left it in the hands of bean counters with no regard for customer service. It is just plain sad how it has steadily been declining over the past several years. How do you all like that UPS Sure Post system? lol.. Ridiculous.

You guys hit the nail on the head as far as Midway is concerned. I ordered a rifle scope from them and it was shipped in a "Bubble Bag " and the scope box was crushed. I only buy from them when NOBODY else has what I need. Try calling up and asking for all one Lot of bullets etc. HA , ha , ha is what you will hear on the other end of the phone. Best shipping in MHO is Midsouth and Graf's. My last Natchez order looked like it was packed by a former Midway employee but a phone call to them got me an apology and a promise to "Pack all my orders extra well". Don't settle for crappy service , let them know when you are not satisfied.

I've learned my lesson with free shipping. Just pay a little more and have it shipped ups ground. Problem solved.

Brownells.
Like Brownells but man they are slow. Made a order before Xmas and still not here, was not free shipping ether, last I checked it has spent three days in Sac. which is 5 hours from my house? Slownell's really needs to get with the times.

My peeve has been shipping with almost all of these outfits. They are trying to make some $ on the shipping when a firing pin will fit in a flat rate box that isn't $28 to send anywhere. Then after ya pay for expedited shipping they actually get it moving 3-5 days later and it still takes 8 days to get it. My wife got some beads from Tibet one time that beat my Brownells order...

I ordered an item from Midway recently.after 3+ years of me.swearing them off and was reminded exactly.why.I made.that decision 3 years ago...not only no, but hell no...no more ever to Midway...Graf's, Midsouth, Brownells etc will get my money.

You get the service you pay for...my recent scope purchase and customer service support from Midway was outstanding. If you want fast shipping, are you willing to pay for service?
Ben

I’ve ordered countless items from them for the last I don’t know how many years and have never had an issue.

In fact I just received 2 bricks of primers and 2 dies that were all exceptionally well packed.

I’m thinking some of the postal guys are having a little fun with those boxes, with the bullet and nitro-fast shipping stamped all over them. You might not want your new NF Atacr shipped this way.

I've had better luck with Midway of late. I've had miserable service from Brownell's and they are on the dead bottom of my list of companies to do business with. Midsouth is far and away number one for me.

That's not on Brownells. It's on the SHIPPER. Call tomorrow and check up on it verbally because lately, I've been getting packages very promptly.

It wasn’t the speed that mattered to me, just the packaging. There is no way it could have made it without damage. I emailed them before ever posting here. There are plenty of other places I will go next.....,
