midway shipping on cleaning rods

I have been getting my order together for midway and I was adjusting my order and checking shipping. They did not charge extra for dewey rods,44") but the minute you add a boretech to the order shipping goes up another $10. I though it would be length specific but is seems brand specific because 2 44' deweys with other stuff were $11 but change that to 1 dewey and 1 boretech and shipping goes to $20. I decided against $20 extra.

They are probably shipping the bore tech separately from the cleaning rod. Also there is the extra insurance involved.

Cleaning rods take a beating during shipment through either UPS or FEDEX. You would be better off to buy one in person where you can take it with you, even if the price is higher. Try either you local gun shop or gun show.

I wonder how they get to the stores. The last place I would look for a cleaning rod is a gun show.

I received my cleaning rods today, they were deweys and came in very heavy cardboard tube similar to what was described with boretech. Still no reply from midway other than they forwarded my message to the appropriated dept. Also got 2 harris 9-13 S-bipods, Merry Xmas to me. Im wondering if harris makes a pillow, so I can take a nap while waiting for game???
