So I know they have their match monsters and varmit nightmares.... Haven't used any yet since I still have a bag of RMR's but saw this today. Thoughts ?

More than likely made for them by Nosler, just like the Nightmares are. Should work just fine in many firearms.

I'd check the price on V-Max before I decided. They're about the same price I believe and likely better. jd

Recently did a test in AR with uncrimped handloads.

Every,
Single,
Round

came out longer COAL when the rounds were chambered, removed, measured.

I think the AR bolt loads a round with such tremendous gusto, a round that comes to a dead stop against the steel walls of the chamber, that the inertia moment results in the projectile moving out a bit.

Lee FCD solved the situation.

I bought some of the PSA AAC 55gr black tip 5.56 and 62gr black tip with a similar looking bullet for about
$10.00. It shot really good, close to 1/2" out of my Remington 783. I also have been reloading 55gr Nosler Ballistic Tips that shoot good too. However, I did try them on some permit deer last spring and they did not expand or perform like I expected. In fact, they performed so poorly I would never use them for that again. The Noslers and some Vmax I tried did the same job with excellence.

Since the ones at Midsouth and the AAC look the same, and since the AAC is sold as budget ammo, I would be pretty quick to think they are the same bullet. But, you know what happens when we assume.

Interesting I do that with most of my AR hand loads .
.17-5.56 KAK, .223 ,5.56, 7.62x39 ,6.5 Grendel
Dot. Remember ever having any of my CBTO's come out longer UNLESS they got a lil stuck from being too long and jamming into the lands. Load all mine and test them to make sure they will chamber and eject with little to no extra force. And I never crimp .... mainly because I don't know if a good way to measure it so it's the sane Every time ......maybe its because I mainly use crappy lee dies and they just add a crap load of neck tension? ..maybe ? Idk

You have improper neck tension then. I have never had any bullet do this when I measured them. I was worried about it and kept doing it over and over again as I was shooting to see if it happened. I sort out ANY rounds that feel light when seating as I know they would move.

Not long ago and not the first time, I helped a shooter at the
range clear his trigger group of ball powder. He had a failure
to fire and extracted the round. Well the bullet did they ol' slam
jam, and stayed put, while the case of power did it's thing. His
famous words were...... "I never had that happen before"......
