Mid and Long Range F-Class matches around Georgetown, TX area

I looked at the "Where to Shoot" spreadsheet (updated 2015) and it shows Houston and Carthrage, but that's it. I wondered if any ranges/clubs have been added that hold F-Class matches in Texas, especially in the Georgetown-Killeen-Austin area.

It's very slim pickens. In addition to the 2 you mentioned, there are monthly club matches out in Stanton (think Midland). I believe there are club matches out in the El Paso region and there are some matches somewhere in Louisiana. That's it.

Matches are *usually* the first Saturday of every month. Check the google calendar prior to heading out; inclement weather can result in match cancellation.

Match Format: 3x20 @ 500 yards, Amenities: Manually pulled paper targets, covered pits, covered firing lines, benches available for shooters who cannot shoot prone, beginner friendly.

The match is a really good time, and usually has a solid turn-out. Arrive by 7AM, usually done around ~1PM

@Alexander-M ....looks like Austin is about 3hrs from Rosharon (Bayou Rifle Club). They are having a 3x20 @1k and 2x15 @1k pair fire match this Sunday if entries arent full...I believe today is the last day to get entered. Great group of shooters that will make you feel welcome! @dskogman

E-Registration for the December 4th, 2022, Bayou Rifles 1000 Yard Match is Open.

The match is restricted to the first 33 shooters who register.

Shooters are expected to set up and take down the eTargets.
Those that travel over 100 miles can be excused as well as those who are not physically able to help.
All others should report to the pits by 6:30AM.

NOTE: There will be a V2-FPS match at this event, If enough people sign up for it.
If you want to shoot in the FPS segment, please bring $5 cash on Sunday, and check off the box on the on-line registration form.



E-registration ends at 9:00PM on Friday before the match. The website will not accept registrations past that time.



Registration will NOT BE available the day of the match.



The deadline for cancellation for a full refund is by 12:00 PM noon, the day before the match. You may cancel for any reason by emailing highpower@bayourifles.org to receive a full refund.



Roll call is at 7:30 AM on the day of the match. No-Shows will not be issued a refund.

It will only die because people don’t want to advance f class. That’s what the site is for.
I hear and see so many “where to shoot” questions, it will die.
Suggestions for improvements are always welcome.

Thank you for your kind comment!

Believe me, I will miss all my friends with whom I have been shooting regularly for the past eight years. Whether at the Bench Rest Club (Wright City, MO), Big Piney (Houston, MO), CIHPRS (Camp Atterbury), and Bucksnort (Marshall, MO), shooting with you guys and gals has been a truly most enjoyable experience.

Honestly, my wife Judy and I would not be looking forward to another move, our 15th. But my son and his wife believe that we should be closer to them since we are in our very late 70’s. That having been said, Judy and I think that the move would be doubtful for a number of reasons. We are just at the exploratory stage now, and far from any sort of a decision.
