I dont know what to do!
I used a gunsmith listed in this site to smith a gun for me . Mickey Coleman to be specific. I received it back only to discover the bolt wont close on a new case fully sized and ten thou under Max length. Not a loaded cartridge , just empty sized brass. This is a min spec ( supposedly) chamber .
All that is not relevant to my real problem .
Mr Colemans number says not working and his website says " account suspended " !

I can appreciate that you tried to contact Mr Coleman before posting here. That being said, I would have tried to contact him on here WITHOUT detailing the issues that you are having. A simple "Mickey Coleman, please contact me, I need to speak with you about a rifle you put together for me" would have sufficed and would have been more discreet. I hope you get in contact with Mr Coleman and that your rifle gets fixed up without any problems.

Now that you have "outed" Mickey Coleman for some alleged (but yet, unproven) chambering felony...

... from what you say, and how you said it, I wonder if you know enough to even know how to determine the alleged problem.

What calibre?

Did you use a headspace "go" gauge on it?

What make brass - brass can be larger than SAAMI minimum, and therefor not fit a true minimum chamber.

Is it fired and resized brass, what makes you believe that your sizing die is making truly minimum cases?

Cut Mickey some slack until you know there is a problem, and don't talk like he is a thief until it is proven so.

A lot of small business' have their web page go off for forgetting to pay the bill on time.... even big companies, like Berger Bullets, who was suspended a few months ago.

What cartridge? What neck diameter? The neck should be engraved on the barrel of it is not SAAMI.

You can cover a case with DyeChem or even Sharpie to get an idea of where it isn't fitting the chamber. That, exactly what brass prep that you've done, measurements of the brass and any communications that you had with Mickey about the chamber would be helpful to have in hand when you contact him to get things ironed out.

Sorry you have a problem, Jim, and I hope you'll be able to contact Mickey. Mickey is one of the finest gentlemen who ever lived and will make sure your project is correct.

Just a thought: if it really is a "minimum spec" chamber, I doubt that anything but a custom die tailored to the chamber will size brass for it.

Start with a "go" gauge. If the bolt closes on it, the problem isn't likely the chamber.
