meplat trimming and retipping factory seconds?

I purchased 250 .224 77 grn Nosler CC and 300 Nosler 55 FBHP factory seconds from Shooters Pro Shop. Only noticiabe flaw appears to be very un-uniform meplats. ive done a little bit of research into trimming and re tipping. Have a few questions. First, is the Sinclair trimmer worth the money? Is there a similar style trimmer, of maybe better quality at a reasonable price? How much of an advantage does re-tippnig provide after trimming? Im only working at 400 yards max range for the time being. Therefore i'm hesitant to spend the money for a full trimming and retipping set this early into the hobby.

600 yds questionable
Short range not worth the effort
