Meehl Solutions powder dispenser

That’s actually really good performance. With the new V4 fine tube overserts from MK Machining (during beta-testing) I was able to get sub 10sec avg throw times and 95+% success rate throwing a 45.5gn load of Varget. At best I was really only able to get about 7.5 sec avgs and that’s with the success rate down about 80%. So you have to figure that’s the V4, with additional “aftermarket” accessories added to enhance speed. So it’s sounding like “out of the box” (I know it’s still essentially in beta-testing) the Meehl Solutions system will likely be able to outperform the V4.

I love using Varget as a test powder too, because for one, it’s such a great powder and almost everyone has a load for it; but also it’s sort of a challenging extruded powder for dispensers to handle with its varying kernel sizes/shapes/weights. If I could get my SuperTrickler to run it great I’d probably have a bench full of those. But then again if I could fly I’d never have to walk or drive anywhere. There’s a significantly higher probability that the latter will actually happen.
Varget is one of the best benchmark powders IMO. It can be quite challenging to meter affectively. Furthermore seeing how the primary target market for this is high volume PRS shooters Varget is the clear choice for our benchmark seeing how the majority of them use Varget and 4350!

I sure hope this system starts hitting people’s benches soon. With IP finally beginning to complete orders, people are throwing a LOT of money in that direction right now (400+ for just the bulk dropper!). Yikes... From what I’ve seen in the run up to this launch, the Meehl is actually beginning to excite me a little more than the IP system now. And I was pretty stoked about the IP system. I think the standalone footprint, touchscreen interface, and price point of the Meehl Solutions setup offers potentially way more value.

Agreed 100%

It does look good but it all depends on your preferences. Some people don't like plastic and appreciate a wheel built tool out of a substantial material, some people get more enjoyment out of using a nice tool. Obviously the cost of manufacturing the IP is way more than the Meehle so the price must reflect that. The IP is built like a take, built almost to be used in an industrial setting, it will last forever. The Meehle has a lot of plastic... will it were out over time probably not. Which a person buys is up to them, I don't think there is a wrong choice it just depends on how you look at things, they both appear to work great and I am happy that there is more competition and it gives us choices. Myself though I think the Meehle is going to need more disc sizes. The Meehle is defiantly going to sell if it works as goods in the videos, which Im sure it does. It looks to be a great value. I wish both companies luck with their projects, it cant be easy these days to launch something like this that everyone is chomping at the bit for.

If you look at the most recent video overview put out by Meehl Solutions, where he’s giving a demonstration of various powders, you’ll see the trickier is now aluminum, not plastic. I reached out to them about that and it’s apparently a design change based on feedback from beta-testers. Also, with their apparent partnerships with Dead Drop (powder cup) and Dram Worx (Pyrex hopper body) it doesn’t seem like they’re “cheaping” out at all with this product. I kind of think Paul’s pricing reflects a bit of that post-covid/higher inflation “Biden era” economy thinking. It just so happens that it took him 3yrs to bring it to market and everyone’s chomping at the bit to get one… so yeah… it’s a license to print money. For the time being.

I did notice that trickle cup in the video and did hear about them working with Dramworx, I cant remember if I saw that in the video or on their website. I have nothing bad to say about them, I actually think it's going to be a great unit. It looks well thought out and pulls ideas from the IP but puts it in an integrated package.

But alas the Meehle is not here yet either... the same thing can happen with it as the IP. Business is tuff for small companies these days to get started, especially with units like this. I think they are both going to be great units and look forward to see them get released. I think there is plenty of meat on the bone for both companies.
