Measuring a reamer?

I am picking up a reamer from a fella that has lost the specs to the reamer. How does one go about measuring the neck and freebore thanks for any help?

Most reamers have that info on them....,

I have 225 reamers from all of the various manufacturers and most do not have the throat and freebore information stenciled on them. The exceptions are the 'Match' reamers which I have called out the measurements for and a handful of standards such as the .308 Palma 95, 6PPC variants and similar competition reamers. All the rest have no information, not even a print number in many cases.

As detailed above, find an optical comparator, send it to the reamer company or try to 'get close' with a set of calipers (not recommended). If you need precision as with neck clearance on a tight neck chamber, get someone to lend a hand with an optical comparator to get it right.

Regards.

Measuring a reamer is very hard to do, we use 100X comparators and watch stack-able tolerances. You have to be very careful because a good micrometer will ding the flutes and that's the end of a good finish . The only way to really get the correct circumference size it will cut is by sending it in and having us do it for you , i will measure any make reamer for free . just send it in to me, thanks Dave

Will you stencil the FB and NK measurements on the PTG reamers that are not noted?
