McMillan Side-Knob Adjustable Cheek Piece - Repeatable Between Removals?

Can anyone tell me if McMillan's side-knob adjustable cheek piece (not the saddle, not the thumbwheel) has a way to set the height such that, when it's removed and replaced, it returns to the set height?

I have a Bell & Carlson stock with an adjustable cheek piece. The cheek piece posts have grooves and the stock comes with e-clips. You set the e-clips into the grooves so that the cheek piece is at the height you want. Then when you loosen the lock screw and remove the cheek piece for cleaning, it is trivial to get it back to the height you set it for - since it goes to the height where the e-clips are.

Thx.

I have a McMillan side knob adjustable cheekpiece, and it has no way to return it to it's original position.

I have made a wood block of the proper thickness that I mount under the cheekpiece. I also have a wood block on another rifle with a thumbwheel adjustment, same problem, same solution.

You could also use a stack of washers, or a machined piece. Remember you have to remove the cheekpiece to remove the bolt or to clean the rifle. Having a pre set block makes it easy to return to desired location.

here's mine
