McMillan benchrest edge stock?

What is everyones opinion on the McMillan Edge benchrest stock? Thinking of one ordered inlet for a Borden BRM with the .250 recoil lug and pillars installed . Anyone have any comments on their inletting and pillars?

Also looking at their flame color combo but was wondering what a medium blue to dark blue to black would look like.

Thanks.

I have 2 and if I was to build another BR gun the first thing I would do is order another.
Mine are for Savages and aside from a little grinding for the trigger to fit the fit was perfect, but I have had to grind every after market stock for trigger fitment so that was nothing new.
If you want it to have a shine, you will need to spend a little time with some polishing compound also and a little auto wax, not a big deal.
I would say that aside from the wait time ( 6 months) you would be hard pressed to find a better stock unless you are willing to pay for or wait for a truly custom stock for your build.

P.S. mine are Red White and Blue for one and Yellow Orange and Purple for the other and there is very little color fade between colors.

Barrel channel cut for a maximum heavy varmint contour...approximately .965. If that,s big enough for your barrel go for it.

My McMillan's are channeled for 1.250 full length. When I first bought them both actions had full cylinder barrels on them, plus a little extra for the nut up near the action.

I liked the one that I had. It required a little minor fitting. Mine was forest green with white swirls. I would buy another one.

I had two of them on dedicated real Benchrest guns.
For Group shooting, they were very good.
For Score shooting, they didn't work for me.

I have had 2 for 20 years. Have shoot every thing from 100 IBS Group and Score thru 1000 yd br. including lots of mid range groundhog shoots. I have always been competitive and probably won more than my fair share. I have taken a 10.5 lb 6ppc to a 6brx that I shoot at 1000yds at close 17 lbs. They have worked well for me. Go for it and enjoy.

Loving mine. Auto clear coat really make em look better. Dark/light grey 13.5 lb, 30br
I don't know what the Smith had to do to fit a bat d.

Here are a couple of mine that go White-Light Blue-Dark Blue. I sold the first one to get a dual port, I liked the color combo enough to order another close to it

If you're doing a br length cartridge, I agree with doing a Model BR action. I've got two and love mine. I'm really trying to refrain from buying a drop port version but I'm feeling like the temptation is wearing me down.
