Shooters,
Sloughhouse Benchrest Shooters will be holding a Chabot Special 200 Yd Group/Score match this coming Saturday May 4th.

Weather looks really nice with mild winds & nice temps forecasted.

Range 11 will be open for practice on Friday, check in and pay at the Main Range house.
I will not be there Friday so check with Steve Epstien @ Range 11 if you have any questions.
Saturday for the match, go directly to Range 11 and pay your match fee there.

Please e-mail Dan at cabenchrest@gmail .com if you plan on attending, he will not be there as he is down in AZ
I will do a bench draw Thursday PM for those who want to set up on Friday.

Format attached for those who have not shot the Chabot before.
Hope to see you there!

Midweek update:
Weather has turned a little on us, with a mild front coming in that shows a 40% chance of some light rain on Saturday morning. The plan is that unless it looks really bad we will go ahead and shoot, I will weigh in tomorrow evening with the bench assignments and hopefully a call on the weather.

Shooters,
Do to the rather severe (for California) weather front (1-1.25” of rain in 4-6 hours and 15MPH winds with gusts over 30mph) scheduled to blow through on Saturday morning right during the match hours, we have made the decision to postpone the match until the following Saturday May 11th.
We have reserved the range for that morning, what I need to know ASAP is how many of you can make it on that day and if you will attend please let Dan know via e-mail (cabenchrest@gmail.com) and he will tally up the willing participants and I will post our plans online/e-mail on Monday May 6th.
Hope everyone can make the switch, it looked like we were going to have a good turnout.
Ya can’t fool Mother Nature I guess, after all it is the Ione Triangle.

FYI
Just a reminder to all you shooters that SBS will be holding our rescheduled Chabot Special this Saturday May 11th, at the Sac Valley Shooting Center.
See original post for the particulars, please try and let Dan know if you are coming and I will do a bench draw Thursday night for those who have preregistered.
Weather forecast for the morning is for temps in the low 60's to high 70's with mild breezes 4-8mph with gusts to 15. Hope to see you all there!

FYI,
It has been brought to my attention that someone else has the range reserved for Friday afternoon. This means we will be open for the regular Friday morning practice, but we won’t draw benches or set up frames until Saturday morning. I would still like everyone to let Dan know if you are coming if you haven’t already.
See everyone Saturday.

We held our rescheduled May Chabot Special this Saturday and although the turnout was a little light due to several of our regulars having prior commitments for the weekend, the 8 stalwarts that showed up were greeted by some unusually mild conditions for the Ione Triangle with temps starting in the low 70's at match time and hitting the high 80's by the time we were done. The breezes were mild 2-6mph with gusts to 15 and the usual twitchy changes of direction. It was not unusual as the day progressed to hear the occasional (ok more than occasional) where the &^$% did that one come from! Anyway enough of the whining on to the results.

Target 1 Score was taken by Francis Lee breaking a 3 way tie at 154 by beating me out on the tiebreaker (Group Agg on Tgt 1) by .001". Steve Epstein also with a nice 154 to take 3rd.
Target 1 Group was also won by Francis with a .754 agg which handily beat my .755 agg for 2nd, with
Steve Raeder 3rd at .883.
Target 2 Score was won by Steve Epstein with a nice 155, Steve Raeder right behind in 2nd with a 154,
Francis Lee 3rd with a 152.
Target 2 Group was won by Steve Raeder with a smoking .596 agg, Steve Epstein 2nd with a .706 agg, and Roy Luchini finishing 3rd with a .8296 just edging out Jeff Rodriguez at .8300.
Target 3 Score was won by Steve Raeder with a nice 156, I finished 2nd with a 151 beating out Francis who also had a 151 on the tiebreaker.
Target 3 Group was won by Roy Luchini with a nice .679 agg, (see Roy, I told you flags would help! LOL),
I finished 2nd at .725 edging out Francis again who took 3rd with a .730.
Target 4 Score was taken by Steve Raeder with a hot 157 which was also high score of the match,
once again I took 2nd with a 152, with Roy grabbing 3rd at 151.
Target 4 Group had Francis back in form laying down a sweet .575 agg to take 1st and also small agg for the match, Steve Raeder was close behind in 2nd with a nice .611 agg, with me a distant 3rd at .800.

Overall Score Aggregate (pays 3 places)
1st: Steve Raeder 619

3rd: Greg Wilson 606
Overall Group Aggregate (pays 3 places)

Overall Grand Aggregate (pays 4 places)

Thanks to everyone who showed up to shoot, and a special thanks to everyone who helped with the setup and teardown/putaway when we were done. It is much appreciated by yours truly!
Hope to see everyone in June for the first half of the Bob Dorton Memorial Match.
Complete results attached as well as a picture of a shot target for those who are curious as to what we are doing.
