Chabot Special @ Sac Valley March 3rd

Shooters,
As announced in a previous e-mail there was a Chabot Special 200 Yd match scheduled for this coming Saturday March 2nd.
at the Sacramento Valley Shooting Center in the heart of the Ione Triangle.
The weather forecast as of this morning is for pretty steady (@ 1”) of rain, so Saturday as of now is a rainout.
I took the liberty of booking the range for Sunday as it was available and the weather forecast is looking dry for Sunday morning.
What I need to know is how many of you are OK with a switch to Sunday for the shoot, Dan has family commitments, and I don’t want to drive 11/2 hours up there if only 2 people can show up.
As usual we will make the call Friday PM, but I would like to know by Thursday PM who is planning on coming and who isn’t.
Please e-mail Dan (cabenchrest@gmail.com) with your plans.
Hope to see a good turnout weather permitting.
Greg

Format attached for those who have not shot the Chabot before.

CHABOT SPECIAL MATCH
This match will be shot on the .243 (.22,6mm,6.5mm) or the .308 (7mm,308) SBS 200 YD Chabot Special target,
which has 3 record bulls in the center with sighter bulls on both sides.
We will shoot (4) relays of 3 bulls each with a 5 shot group on each bull at 200 yards.
There will be a 20 minute firing period for each 3-bull target, consisting of 15 shots for record plus unlimited sighters.
Match total of 60 shots for record.
We will take a short break after each relay to change the targets, clean, potty breaks, scoring, whining, etc.
Targets will be scored for both group and score.
You can shoot whatever class gun you want, no weight limit, 30 caliber or less. BR pistols are welcome!
Please try and be considerate of your fellow shooters, after all these are Benchrest matches, we’re not used to big boomers, no muzzle breaks are allowed!
Match fee is $30.00, please bring exact change
$20.00 goes to Club expenses/range fees, targets, etc.
$10.00 goes to the cash awards, with payout as follows:
25% to the top 3 in Total Score
25% to the top 3 in Group Agg
50% to the top 4 in the OAL as determined by your place in the 2 categories, lowest score wins.
Cash award for High Score/Small Group on each of the 4 individual targets.

Low foothill snow expected Saturday and Sunday. Bruce and I both have long steep driveways and expect to be snowed in and stuck at home.

Yeh, last I checked they were talking snow down to 2000’ in the foothills. As of right now I don’t see a lot of enthusiasm amongst the shooter (4 so far, everyone else has bailed), for traveling or shooting in this stuff coming in.
We still show dry for Sunday morning though, so I will make the call Friday night as to whether we are a go for Sunday.

Shooters,
Due to the forecasted weather coming in this weekend and the lack of shooters who can make it on Sunday ( which is starting to look wet as well)
we are canceling this weekends Chabot Special.
Hope to see everyone next month for our first 2 day Registered LV/HV Group match.
