May 7 Status Check - Who's gotten stimulus?

Not taxable but if you get money back at the end of the year it will be deducted.... If you end up owing them money , it's a gift... So basically it's an early tax refund....
Provide a citation.Maybe you should read what newbieshooter posted above? Do you understand the difference between a refund and a credit?

Provide a citation. Do you even understand what he posted? Maybe you need to do a little more “research?”
No I don’t need to research how this works. However per your previous post I will bet my “stimuli” that I receive against what you receive as “stimuli”.
We can settle up spring of 2021.

Think hard before agreeing.

So we are betting that you say it’s taxable Federal income and I am saying that it is not? And of course we are betting $1200.

Yes, and we are betting the amount you receive to what I receive.
Pm sent also for your reading pleasure. Hope the links work.

For clarification,
Never said we were betting $1200, I said I would bet my stimulus payment against yours that I say it will be taxable.

It’s not taxable, so I already won the bet. But since you don’t have anything to back up your assertion that it is taxable, I just have bragging rights you didn’t know what you were talking about in your original post.
So you are squelching on you offer of a bet? Then apparently my “uneducated “ self is correct. As before, it is TAXABLE. Thank you.

It’s “welching“ not “squelching.” Maybe they spell things differently in Georgia?? Of course, if you are so convinced it is taxable Federal income I would be willing to bet $1200 that it is not. I think that is fair, but maybe not in Georgia??

BTW, my original offer was based on Texas10’s (assumed $1200) rebate, not yours. Read it again!!

I'd say that all this stimulus WILL be taxed, but in a very undocumented way. -- inflation. This money will be paid back by all of us in the future when our US dollar is worth much less than it is now.

It will take one of you economic wizards to explain who the recipient of this "tax" will be, but it will be paid. One way of looking at it, is that it is the ultimate "fair tax". Everyone who spends money will pay it. Five years from now, when a gallon of milk costs $5.95 instead of $2.95, just realize that we are being "taxed" for the stimulus checks and bail-outs that are now being thrown around. jd

Don’t think you are going to have to worry about the price of milk.

Throughout this entire debacle the dollar has appreciated more than deprecated. US interest rates are at historic lows, hardly a sign of inflation. Taxes may go up, but will be borne by corporations and those with higher incomes, not the “middle class.”

Not sure what “Texas10’s” means but, “assuming” around here is not a good practice.
Enjoy the camera I and several others paid for.
Done with this conversation.
In closing, it is taxable, LoL!
