Thats what it was designed for. Does yours spin or is it locked down?Yeah, so far I'm liking the knob. Nice positive spot to put the side of your index finger with a knife hand to raise the bolt.

How slick is it?
It’s been said that all controlled round feed actions need a bit of extractor tuning.Took it out the first time. Shot a 198-8 @ 500 w/ some berger 77otm's with no load development.
It's a bit picky about how you feed/work the bolt. I've read that the extractor claw can need a little work to get tuned perfectly along with some break in.
So far I'm really happy.

A lot of bats you see that are shiny and beautiful are bluedIt really is built incredibly well. All of the parts are beautifully machined.
If they could use the same Melonite service that BAT uses, this would be my favorite action.
Looks really nice!!
If you drop a loose round on top of the mag will it chamber and will the extractor clip over the rim ok?
All of the ARC actions have slip over capable extractors.Looks really nice!!

What alloy are these actions machined from?
Toroidal lugs kida seat themselves. Ted has a video with a plastic donut in a bowl showing how no matter how its tilted it still has contactThey don't openly say (as far as I can tell) but they do say this:
ENGRAVING A MAUSINGFIELD
A Mausingfield action is much too hard to engrave. Gunsmiths planning to build engraved rifles should request a soft action from American Rifle Company. After engraving is complete and before the action is used, it must be heat treated per American Rifle Company’s specification to establish proper strength. American Rifle Company will work closely with gunsmiths undertaking projects requiring an engraved action.
I will add that I checked the lug contact/fit after I had a barrel in it. They say they don't need to be lapped "because of the design" (what action manufacturer advertises that lugs need to be lapped?) and I'm happy to report that there was excellent contact. One lug had complete and even contact, and the other was 95+ percent.
