Mauser 201 Luxus ?

About 15 years ago I bought a 201 Mauser Luxus without knowing anything about the rifle, had never seen one before. I have since sold an Annie that it outshot. Does anyone know the history of these rifles, are they known to be shooters? I am also curious if they sourced barrels.

Okay , what I remember, no parts are or even were available. Mags rarely fed correctly and the chamber is hard to get to to single feed . When working they are beautiful rifles and I hunted squirrels for a while with one . Thats all I remember.

Very high end rimfire rifles made in the 1980s if memory serves. They are they only rimfire I remember having two forward bolt lugs just like a centerfire rifle. I think 90% of them were sold in Europe so not many made it to the USA. Fragile ejector design was the only complaint I have heard.

Yes, I do know about the ejector, mine broke. I couldn't find parts, so a custom smith repaired mine.

Numrich still has magazines for it BTW. I would grab them while you can!

I managed to stumble into one in 22 mag and I have been nothing but impressed with the quality and accuracy of this rifle.
