Match Directors opinions

1. As a sling shooter a 7 second delay doesn’t really bother me. Maybe if I was shooting from a bipod or rest where I wanted to ram rounds down range I would be bothered by it.

2. The seeing a group deal is dumb. Whether the system plots the group or I do while shooting doesn’t matter. If anything letting the system do it makes a sling guys life a bit easier but really whoop tee do.

3. We should all be firing 2 or 3 to a mound with 45 second shot window and you score the next shooter… now they will really get ppl bitchin…

At three to a mound, how many shots per match would you like?

I have shot at matches where they have two systems running simultaneously. One for F class n one for sling.
Yes, so have I. However, if I understand correctly, an individual target can relay only to one access point. For example, if there are 40 targets (sensor hubs) and two access points, target 1-20 would be on access point #1 and targets 21-40 would be on access point #2. Dead Zero runs large matches in this fashion...or at least they did at the first V2 match.

This. If the 7 second delay is slowing me down, I am shooting too fast.

For those Match Directors that have run many ShotMarker matches where is the best place you have found for the access point? Behind the line or forward of it?

We put it infront of the line where possible, and up high.

Groups off and everyone gets a delay. Made it easy for you Steve. Ask those AR Tactical shooters how much easier they need it than a big target, bipod and bag. Learn to center their groups without the ET showing all 20. :p
Well put. Those are skills that are part of the overall skill set needed to play the game. If it was easy, anyone could do it and it seems like we are trying to do just that.

I think it diminishes the accomplishments of the many for the feelings of the few when the bar is lowered to accommodate "everybody". Play the game as it stands or go play pickle ball. :P :P :P

You can have more than one, you just need to set them up on different channels.
Yes, there are four channels with ShotMaker, so you can have up to four access points turned on and tuned to one of the four channels and synced with a separate sensor hub. I have done it and as a low-tech guy it was very tedious for me to set up but it works. It works until some knuckle head that does not know what he is doing starts pushing buttons and then things get tied in a knot and it is very tedious to get things straightened out.

They come tuned to channel one and most users never change that. I keep mine turned to channel two so that if I am at the range and someone else shows up with a Shotmarker there is less chance of getting them fighting each other for the Wi-Fi channel.

Jeremy, that is what I've done in the past. But our last match I was told it was "BS" what I was doing. So I decided to see what the rest of the world is doing. I'm not against change, if you can convince me otherwise.

Cutting out a bunch of salty/pithy commentary that would probably get me a time out... put it in the match program, one time and target setup for everyone, all disciplines, and be done with it. If you're not running Registered matches, they can deal with it... or not.
