Alan Long finally got to put his March X 8-80 on his
Sako A-1 today. He had to wait for a picatinney
rail from PBIKE but it looks like the wait was well
worth it. Wind was steady at 12 mph with higher
gusts.
After sighting in and warm up, Kruzan started with
a nice 5 shot string then held for a center shot on
the Orange Bull.
Alan followed with one of the best groups of the day.
I was next with a nice 5 shot group. Then I held
2.5 mildots and tried for a 'chigger'. Do you think???
After the short range test was over we went for headshots only on
Ole Chuckie at 340 yds. The Sako was up to the task. I
believe I had 3 or 4 straight headshots which was not bad for
the wind conditions.
All in all the Sako, 6 ppc, Pbike picatinney rail, and March X
seemed to bolt up and perform nicely. We were even shooting
loads from Kruzan's Sako in Alan's gun and it did not miss a beat.
Kruzan, you better hold on to that NF.
