Helping to clean out the in-laws house and was cleaning out the safe. There I found a Marble's game getter, model 1908 (not in the best condition, but I think it would still fire...) and...it had the 12" barrel (no attachable stock found yet). Now I knew from general research that this gun is still illegal to own, per the NFA. So I was thinking "Crap!", I have to dispose of this, but how? Well I put it aside and went on cleaning. A few weeks later, some papers in the safe were brought home, and in an envelope marked "gun permit", was a registration form for the game getter, dated 1/9/56, signed by my wife's grandfather and marked "approved". I couldn't believe it was actually registered. He owned a bar in the 30's through the 50's, and was constantly getting firearms from people who owed him money on their bar tab. (He received a Henry rifle once, but another relative took that when their estate was divided). Anyway, my question: I know this form allows ownership of the gun, but can it be sold (class 3 license?)? Her folks could use the money and I'm checking on it for them.
