Ruger, wife named him after her SP-101, is 90 lbs of loyalty! You're never alone with a Malanois. All he wants to do is please me and sometimes ignore the wife's commands. Speaking of her, never approach her without his approval! I call them German Shepard dogs on crack cocaine...

I heard early on that dogs are susceptible to the virus. Don’t recall hearing mentioned lately.

I ask because..... 22 days ago my Lab came down with what appeared to be flu/cold like symptoms. Lethargic, no appetite, and serious shaking chill bouts so bad that he actually let us cover him with blankets..... which has never been allowed. Only lasted the day, with no vomiting or diarrhea, stools were normal, and he's been fine to above average since.

Dogs & other warm-blooded creatures are susceptible to coronaviruses, as we are ourselves. We get colds, and the symptoms vary widely depending on our resistance and what particular ‘bug’ we’re hosting for the moment, just as with other creatures.

Maybe not this new one which seems to have borrowed characteristics from others of its ilk - which they can and will do, and makes them very scary indeed.

Glad to hear your Lab recovered without complications.

Had a bad day today,family pet ,Boston terrier died at 3:30 this morning.His name was "Murphy" If Murph would have been a person he would have been a stand up comedian!Man that dog made me laugh.I raise my glass and say "Here is to Murph "

its the worst to have to deal with losing a pet I'm sorry for you....
