Mandrel vs bushing

You guys that are using an expander mandrel as your last step, What are you using for lube and what steps do you take to get rid of the lube before loading?
I do not use lub, have not found it necessary. Since I am minimizing the sizing with the selected bushing there is little working of the brass with the mandrel.
+1...carbide mandrels are the way to go.

Carbide expander is the other question I forgot to ask above as well. Thanks.

I use One Shot spray on both the outside of the case and inside of the neck before neck expanding with a mandrel. I rinse off the One Shot and brush the inside of the neck with 90% isopropyl alcohol and then let dry.

ONE SHOT??? SERIOUSLY? LOL. More like one stuck. I'm just kidding. I've it almost exclusively for many years. I currently use 1 shot for lube, full length bushing die but I use an expander ball (polished to the size I want) in my die that just kisses the neck on the way back through. I think it's getting the same results in the end and using the mandrel after sizing but the mandrel may make things just a little straighter possibly but mine are straight enough. By the way, I wipe off the outside of the case but I don't do anything to the inside of the neck after sizing, all brushing and things happen before sizing. The lube in the neck hasn't hurt me that I know of and I don't have to use graphite after ultra sonic cleaning either.

As Ken Markle(sp?) of K&M wrote to me several years ago, be careful on the sizing numbers as one needs to consider spring back of metal when sizing. He also cautioned about the 0.001 increase of the mandrel saying, in effect, that might not produce as consistent results as a little more.

His words of wisdom, not mine
