Has anyone tried one on a straight 1.25" target barrel? Specs for the Sporter model say it is for barrels from 0.5" to 1" muzzle diameter BUT recently on the Bulletin it said "wink wink" it would work with the 1.25" barrel! I would like to hear from someone that has actually done this and how they went with it.

Worked on a buddy's but I had to increase the sensitivity to H1. No sweat. The XFR doo-dad and app are pretty cool, too!

edit to add: Only issue I have with mine is on my tapered (Savage S7 contour) is the bayonet slipping forward. The insert is a smooth finish so it has no grip on the barrel. I'm going to fix that and try again. The Sporter works great and there's no need to shut down the range to set up a Chrony or other "normal" chronograph.

It has the two inserts, but they are hardly "grippy" IMHO. I just sent an e-mail to MagnetoSpeed recommending that they go to a rougher/grippier material.
Next time I use mine, I'm going to rough up the insert with some sandpaper, AND use a piece of tape on the end of the barrel.
