Made my own trickler

May not be the appropriate category. At 78 I feel I constantly need a project to keep the mind busy. I decided to try to make my own trickler. It’s really a copy with one obvious change. Look familiar? Very labor intensive, at least for me. Works good though.

To me precision trickling hardware seems to be the weak link on the high accuracy auto scale systems. Without it they are just a means to accurately weigh errors.

Not really sure what you are trying to say. At the very end the trickler needs to drop kernel by kernel with enough time in between to allow the scale to make up its mind. If the kernels are lined up single file that’s not hard to do but if there are clusters of kernels you may end up with 1, 2 or 3 kernels in one drop. My device allows up to 10 seconds between vibration pulses for those scales that are suffering from dementia. Vibration pulses can be set so short that the kernels barely move (or not move at all).

Yes, this is what is needed vs more electronics.

I started with a rcbs and later added a dandy. The rcbs is prone to dropping clumps instead of single stream, and I found it ironic to automate it in conjunction with a high resolution scale. Seemed like a method to highlight the weak link instead of addressing it as you are.
