I have a rem 700 varmint rifle with a factory laminate stock that has a factory 22-250 barrel that might need to be replaced in the not to distant future. Not sure if i want another 22-250 or if im better off with something different, and not sure what cartridges will cycle and if there are any differences in mag well openings or mags, followers, springs ect. Will the 7-08, 308 ect work withbthe same mag parts? It has adl bottom metal.
Also will a 6br cycle without modification? I have heard of some issues but never from someone first hand.
I dont hunt many varmints these days and would like something somewhat low recoil and accurate with good barrel life for shooting paper and maybe a deer.
I have been throwing around 6.5x47l, 7-08, or maybe a 6br or a variation.
