They can vary, get a check weight closer to the charge area you normally work with.I adjusted shot weight in the pan base and now able to level scale out but 500 grain weight provided weighing at 245 grains.
That made me laugh!!Sent mine off to Scott Parker for a tune-up and hopefully will get back soon.
I use a bullet for a wt sometimes they are a grain or +-2 but they work
I use a bullet to chk my scale for zero, so I know it's workin like it's supposed to I don't shoot enough or shoot comp to use the digital scales, but that could change here in a yr or so, I'm hoping it does so I can ramp up and start shooting in comp, with custom stuffto check what if =/1 2 gr. ?
There is no 500 grain weight provided. There is a weight provided such that given the weight's distance from the pivot and the pan's distance from the pivot the beam will balance with an additional 500 grain in the pan. Leverage: "give me a place to stand and I could move the earth" As noted it's a fine scale. I'd take a good lens and look at the presumably agate bearing points and the steel pivot points. Folks use bullets and coins to check but check weights are cheap enough as might be a favor from your pharmacist, school lab or other friendly connection.I adjusted shot weight in the pan base and now able to level scale out but 500 grain weight provided weighing at 245 grains.
