Lyman Gen 5 error 040

Anyone ran into this error before?
A friend of mine has one of these Gen 5 Lymans that work perfectly last week but the last couple of days just shows error 040 on the screen after he switches it on.

I told him it might be time for something new but he seems to like the scale, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Found a post where a guy with a Gen 6 had the 040 error. He said he called Lyman and was told it was powder inside the unit causing problems.

"Anyone looking for a fix for this fault - I was in contact with Lyman. Very helpful.
Short version, if you pick up the machine and move it side to side and hear any powder in it you need to strip it.
Strip top as if cleaning, pull the pad up and off where the weight pan goes.
Turn it upside down, 6 screws, 4 you can see and 2 under the front pads. Remove all of them and the machine slides apart.
Blow out all loose powder. You can switch it on and check it will zero properly at this point.
If not - there is a plastic strip in the middle for weight bar. 2 screws on it, remove them and you might find some powder under it, blow out/remove powder. I was informed to be very careful with this as it is delicate, put this back together and check for correct zeroing.
Then just rebuild.
Worked for me.
Hope this help someone as I couldn't find anything on this anywhere."
