This is a comparison of two scales that are widely used. These are my opinions base only on the findings of my experience using the two scales side by side in the same environment. I purchased a veritas s63 I hopes to get better handloads and shrink my groups. I currently have a lyman gen 6 and have had a lot of success using it. What I found when comparing the two scales is that one the veritas is twice the size as the entire gen 6 unit and looks Like what you would find in a lab environment. It measures to .02 grains and seems to be a lot more sensitive to the environment. So After setting up both scales and calibrating both of them with the same weight. I find to my surprise that the lyman Scale was always with in .04 grains of what the veritas would read. Most of the time it exactly the same. The problem was that it did not always despence the exact charge programmed always with in .1 grains. The lyman Scale did not any issues with drift. The veritas on the other hand is a lot more sensitive. With all the filters and stabilization turned up, it still had some issues with drift and keeping a good zero.
It has a manual zero entry that made it handy if a zero drift occured after a charge was in a pan, making were you could still finish weighing with out starting over. I like the veritas so far and will be seeing if there will be a change in the sd and es of my loads from using it. More shocking though was the accuracy I was getting from the lyman expected it actually to be worse. I'll give an update after I shoot some loads.
