Lyman Borecam vs Hawkeye Borescope - one man's opinions

The wand still wallows around inside a .30 cal bore guide, so I'm back to my finely calibrated ring o' tape.

The downside of this thing is that now I'm probably going to have to buy a new barrel... :oops:
 
That bore picture with my Lyman is a normal one somewhere in the middle of a barrel. I do not remember what gun or when I took it. Lighting is what you get with the Lyman. This picture is a quality that all of my Lyman usage has.

Think this one shows 5R rifling:

Wow, My Lyman comes no where close to that image. Very dark even at max setting. Very small field of view. I was just getting ready to pony up for a Hawkeye. I'll call Lyman and see if they can fix. Was that way new.

I definitely suggest contacting Lyman. Mine produces images very close to what Captain posted as well.
