Yes sir!All OK up there Alex ?
This question is asked many many times and IMO this is as good an answer as you’ll ever get!But mostly, I'd say the one that gets driven best is the winner. There's also a lot to popularity. If a field is made up of mostly one cartridge, odds go in it's favor even before the commence fire is given.
My dasher with a slippery 6mm bullet will hold it's own against anything you can throw at it in group shooting at 600. Custom 6mm bullets are the cats pajamas, and tough to beat.A 240mk @ 3005fps would handly beat a 6.5 139-142gr, IF YOU COULD SHOOT, unless it was dead calm which was never the case! Calm conditions it was dead even, the shooter was the deciding factor
I never shot the 600yrd game. I competed at 1000yrds.My dasher with a slippery 6mm bullet will hold it's own against anything you can throw at it in group shooting at 600. Custom 6mm bullets are the cats pajamas, and tough to beat.
However, I have seen plenty of times the 6.5, 7, and 30's kick my backside in score....... and sometimes in group!

Its the same at 1k. Its all about conditions. Anything decent and the 6mms are gonna be at the top 99% of the time. Any of the BR variants can and do win. Its very tough to see the differences without a large sample size. The 300s do still have a place, even at 600. A lot of national wins would not have happened without them. When it gets nasty they are really hard to beat.I never shot the 600yrd game. I competed at 1000yrds.

When you get the right barrel and bullets your golden.
But I do shoot a Dasher and 300wsm! But the conditions are the killer for most guys.

It's me Rich I'm still driving myself nuts and trying to find right barrel!Joe from Williamsport club? If so, Long TIme! It's Rich Dillon
I can't see the lighter bullets doing better in 'conditions'. I see the lighter bullets being easier to 'drive', which most of the time you don't usually have bad conditions. That said there will always be some 'conditions'. But, constantly shooting a rifle/cartridge that can handle those conditions allows you to shoot better in most conditions. So I’m somewhat thinking from reply’s if someone wins with 6mm over one the heavy‘s they were better on the conditions
I'm thinking about a comeback, lol... you guys were great competitors! Ive got an old 6mm Kreiger tube i never used so maybe ill try and get one of these Dasher things, we'll see...i'm thinking I'll make an appearance this coming spring. Hope all is well! It's me Rich I'm still driving myself nuts and trying to find right barrel!
When you going to stop and see us again?
