LR Benchrest

Bottom Fodder

your option: Over the years what single cartridge has dominated the longer range bench rest?
just interested in knowing not trying to start a debate
and I’m sure like most things I ask you need more information

I would have thought the new darling of F-class, some version of the .284, would be in there. Maybe too much recoil for good bench shooting? I know that's why I went to the Dasher in F-class. Recoil wasn't punishing, but it did move me a bit and having to reset wasn't always happening perfectly back to the same.

Over the years, I'd say a Dasher. There are several really good calibers/cartridges capable of winning and some of it falls on the conditions on a given day. But mostly, I'd say the one that gets driven best is the winner. There's also a lot to popularity. If a field is made up of mostly one cartridge, odds go in it's favor even before the commence fire is given. Personally, I like a 6BR-DX but not a lot of them out there. Not knocking any of them but the BRDX would be my first choice with a few closely on its heels.
