Lowrider users.

I should have one of these arriving a few days. I was wondering what your likes and dislikes are. What are some of the considerations I need to take into account for bag setup for the unusual buttstock design. I have short arms and the stock will most likely be shortened. Was considering an adjustable buttplate incase i ever want to get into F-Class. Will be using a Rem 700SA chambered in 6.5x47L mostly for IBS 600yd.

My 6 Dasher switch barrel rig is on a Lowrider. I shoot it F-Class, and have no issues relating to cheek weld or other ergonomics; the stock is perfect for me as is. It is the best shooting rifle I own, and any new rifle I build will be on another Lowrider. Not to mention that talking to Richard on the phone is always informative. You can see lots of pictures of this rifle project, including stock work) here:

The web page picture right-left arrows work after you select the first and last picture in the row and the left and right arrows; a bit of a bug. There are more pictures in each set than shown in the thumbnails - fiddle a bit and you will get to scroll to the new ones.

I use a Farley front rest with the 3" bag, and a simple rear bag with short ears. I turn the rear bag around backward so that it doesn't interfere with the rear stock "rail" . There is a picture of the rifle in the bags about halfway down the page here:

I also use the UHMW stock tape front and rear, from Russ Haydon:

You should find that that stock will track the bags like nothing else - it will maintain a continuous sight picture at 600 yards with a 42 power scope and the rifle shooting 142s in a 260AI with no brake. Can't wait to get it to the prairie dog towns.

I did have Richard add some weight to the butt end of the stock to help with balancing ta 30" 1.25" OD barrel.

Hope that this helps!

Cheers,
