Lowest SD with Rem 9 1/2 primer.

I've switched to 210m primers for my .308 win. I'm getting lower SD numbers. I'm just curious if anybody on this forum was able to get single digit SD with a Remington 9 1/2 primer in .308 win.

I have had the best (ie single digit) SD numbers with either Russian primers for large rifle or, even better, using the small rifle primer .308 brass with just about any primer (so far Fed. 205Ms, BR4s and Tula 5.56). Remmy's are pretty hot compared to the other choices in large rifle primer but they do have a good reputation on the line.

I threw all my 9 1/2s in a bonfire....to many FTF's. I run the 210m with exceptional results. My 308 shoots a SD of 9 and ES of 17. Exceptional groups out to 400 so far....

Using the small primer Lapua 308 brass, I switched to the mag CCIs from the BR-4s, groups tightened, ES and SD dropped.

I keep hearing about the mag small primers superiority - kind of counter intuitive to me but I will try it this winter...
I know a very successful F-Open shooter who uses Large Rifle Match primers for his magnum match loads so as to utilize the reduced flash for better SD numbers. That and German Salazar's primer tests have kept me on the 'low flash' band wagon thus far. However! Better tested and confirmed than rejected out of hand!
